Dangote To Upgrade Water Treatment Plant Of Kano Varsity

Africa richest man, Aliko Dangote has offered to upgrade water treatment plant of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, to address the University’s water supply issues.

A statement by the Vice Chancellor of the Kano state owned University, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai shortly after he led the Principal Officers on a courtesy visit to the University’s Chancellor,
Aliko Dangote at his office in Lagos to show appreciation for his intervention in paying the sum of N100M upfront as part of KEDCO electricity Bill.

He stressed that “The visit became imperative in order to show appreciation to the Chancellor for his intervention in paying the sum of One Hundred Million (N 100,000,000) upfront as part of KEDCO electricity Bill.”

Yakasai in the press statement said “The payment was made through the Aliko Dangote Foundation, which facilitated the immediate reconnection of the University with electricity supply.”

The Vice Chancellor revealed that “In the course of the visit, the University management presented to the Chancellor some pressing issues facing the University.”

According to the signed statement the Chancellor, Aliko Dangote offered to construct a befitting Senate Building for the institution,
construction of 3 nos additional students’ hostel blocks, and construction of 10 nos senior academic staff accommodation.

Prof. Yakasai further disclosed that the Chancellor also pledged to upgrade the University’s water plant to address the University’s water supply issues, while he also further to bankroll the conduct of the University’s 5th Convocation Ceremony.

Dangote also pledged to provide official vehicles to University’s Principal Officers, and as well provide sustainable solution to the University’s electricity supply problem.

The vice Chancellor said “The University Management, on behalf of the State Government, the entire University Community and the good people of Kano State highly appreciate the Chancellor, Alhaji (Dr) Aliko Dangote GCON, the president of the Dangote Group for this landmark intervention.”
