Kano – August 17, 2026 – Alhaji Salisu Mustapha has formally assumed office as Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services, AGS, Directorate, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Kano State.
A statement issued by the Press Secretary, Office of the SSG, Musa Tanko Muhammad, said Mustapha resumed at the office on August 7, 2026, following his redeployment from the Office of the Head of Civil Service, where he served as Permanent Secretary, Establishment Directorate.
The statement said his return to the Cabinet Office followed the approval of new appointments and redeployments by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
It noted that Mustapha had previously served in the same capacity in the Cabinet Office and was already familiar with its operations.
“During his earlier tenure, he distinguished himself through initiatives aimed at improving staff discipline, welfare and the working environment, including the institutionalisation of compulsory monthly sanitation exercises,” the statement said.
It added that he also facilitated development projects within the office and introduced welfare measures to boost staff morale and service delivery.
The statement further said a send-forth ceremony was organised for him by the Establishment Directorate, Office of the Head of Civil Service, in recognition of his contributions.
Speaking after assuming responsibility, Mustapha expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to justify the trust through dedicated service.
He urged staff of the Cabinet Office to cooperate and work as a team to achieve government objectives and contribute to the development of Kano State.
Mustapha also prayed for wisdom and fortitude to discharge his responsibilities effectively.
