Kano – August 8, 2026 – The African Democratic Congress, ADC, governorship candidate in Kano State, Ibrahim Alamin Little, has pledged to prioritise education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Little made the pledge on Sunday in Kano during a press briefing where he also announced Abdulkadir Shehu Bari from Rogo Local Government Area as his running mate.
The candidate said his administration would address challenges in the education and health sectors and tackle the growing problem of drug abuse among youths in the state.
He said the government would introduce social welfare programmes to support vulnerable groups, including widows, orphans and out-of-school children.
According to him, the administration would undertake a comprehensive overhaul of the governance system to ensure opportunities are available to citizens irrespective of social status or background.
“Once we are ushered into the Kano Government House after the 2027 elections, we will ensure that we tackle the decay in the health sector and provide meaningful social welfare programmes for vulnerable members of society,” he said.
Little said his administration would encourage innovation and entrepreneurship by creating clusters across different sectors of the economy.
He said the initiative would help transform Kano from a predominantly consumer society into a productive economy capable of creating jobs, generating wealth and improving the standard of living of residents.
The candidate urged residents of Kano to support the ADC, and assured that his administration would promote inclusive governance and give citizens the opportunity to contribute to the development of the state.
