Abuja – July 15, 2026 – The Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, HJRBDA, Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the successful rescue of abducted students and teachers in Oyo State.
Bichi described the operation as a major victory in the fight against insecurity.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, he said the rescue, which reunited the victims with their families, reflected the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting the lives of Nigerians and tackling insurgency and banditry across the country.
He attributed the achievement to the Tinubu administration’s emphasis on intelligence-driven security operations and improved collaboration among security agencies, noting that the rescue was carried out without conceding to the demands of the kidnappers.
The HJRBDA chief also praised the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their professionalism, courage and dedication, saying their efforts deserved national recognition and continued public support.
Bichi, however, urged political leaders across party lines, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to set aside partisan differences and support the Federal Government’s efforts to address the country’s security challenges.
According to him, national security should not be politicised, stressing that all stakeholders must unite behind the President and security agencies to safeguard lives and secure a peaceful future for Nigeria.
