WAIYA URGES AKY SINGERS FORUM TO DISSEMINATE GOVERNMENT POLICIES

Kano State Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya has urged members of the Abba Kabir Yusuf (AKY) Singers Forum to educate the public on government policies and programs.

Waiya who made the appeal Monday when he received forum members, led by the Chairman Abubakar Sani, said the AKY Singers Forum has a role to play in educating public on the concept of ” Kano First” and its importance to development of the state.

He also emphasized the crucial role of singers in information dissemination, which according to him, is in line with the ministry’s mandate of educating and informing the general public on government activities

” I want to assure you that government will support you as partners in progress, and appreciation of your contributions to the success of this administration. This government will support you in addressing challenges related to office accommodation, studio facilities, and vehicles ” he stated.

Abdullahi Waiya announced plans for training and certification programs for forum members to improve their skills on the profession and.become self reliant.

Waiya further disclosed that government had concluded preparation for the conduct of traditional Hausa game ” Kalankuwa” and other Hausa musics during Sallah celebration to portray and preserve the culture of the Kano people.

The Chairman of the forum Abubakar Sani briefed the commissioner on the forum’s activities and sought government intervention in establishing a faculty for Hausa singers to enhance language skills and song quality.

In another development, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya received members of ‘Abba Magajin Malam’ Association who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

Speaking, chairman of the association Comrade Munnir Ibrahim Publisher told the commissioner that they were at his office to register their support to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf due to his leadership style.

He explained that the slogan of “Kano First” shows how the Governor is fully committed in transforming the state with available resources for the betterment of its citizens.

In his response, Commissioner Ibrahim Waiya expressed the need for members of the association to support the Governor in his commitment to achieving the agenda of “Kano First”.

He thanked them for the visit and assured them that the ministry would continue to work with them to achieve the set goal.
