Kano police, INEC monitor Dawakin Kudu/Warawa by-election

Kano – The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has joined officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission and members of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security to monitor the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election.

The team visited polling units across Dawakin Kudu and Warawa local government areas to assess the conduct of the election and ensure compliance with electoral guidelines.

Bakori and Kano State Resident Electoral Commissioner inspected the deployment of security personnel, the work of INEC officials and voters’ adherence to electoral procedures aimed at ensuring a peaceful and credible poll.

The police commissioner commended security agencies and electoral officials for maintaining order and professionalism, and stressed the need for neutrality to sustain public confidence in the electoral system.

He urged voters to remain peaceful and cooperate with officials and security operatives to ensure the exercise ended successfully.

As of the time of filing this report, voting was progressing smoothly in both local government areas, with voters turning out orderly while security personnel maintained surveillance.
