Kano, The Police command in Kano State has launched a public sensitisation campaign to combat thuggery and illicit drug trafficking across the state.

The initiative follows directives by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, aimed at strengthening community participation in crime prevention.

This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Kano by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Kiyawa.

Kiyawa said the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, had ordered widespread public engagement across communities.

The CP said officers would visit traditional rulers, religious leaders and community heads, alongside town hall meetings and sporting activities within their areas of supervision.

“The Command is committed to proactive policing through sustained dialogue and partnership with the public,” Bakori said.

He commended community leaders and residents for supporting ongoing crime-fighting efforts across the state.

Bakori urged the people to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or call 08032419754, 08123821575 or 09029292926.
