Yusuf recruits over 4,000 additional teachers in Kano

Kano , Gov.Abba Yusuf of Kano Statevhas recruited 4,315 former BESDA volunteer teachers into permanent and pensionable teaching service.
This brings the total number of teachers recruited under his administration to a significant figure, following earlier approvals of 5,500 teachers in 2023, 5,632 teachers in 2024 and 4,000 teachers in May 2025
All these teachers were absorbed into the state’s teaching workforce from the BESDA voluntary teaching scheme.
The governor emphasized that these recruitments demonstrate his government’s consistent commitment to rescuing and reforming Kano’s education sector.
The governor announced the recruitment of an additional 2,616 teachers to further strengthen the system.
A ₦200 million vehicle loan scheme was flagged off to support teachers.
444 motorcycles and 300 computers were distributed to enhance school monitoring and evaluation.
The governor’s administration has yielded results, with Kano emerging as the best-performing state in the 2025 NECO examination.
The recruitment of over 4,000 teachers is part of the government’s effort to reward dedication and ensure quality education delivery in Kano State .
