Kano, Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Saturday congratulated Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II on completing his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson Sunusi Dawakin Tofa in Kano on Saturday.
The Governor described the Emir as an “icon of excellence” and a role model, praising his contributions to scholarship, economic thought, and social justice.
Yusuf also announced plans to partner with the University of London to strengthen Northwest University, Kano, focusing on research, faculty development, and international academic standards.
This collaboration aims to bring the institution up to global standards.
The Governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to education as a key pillar for Kano’s development and future prosperity.
He prayed for the Emir’s continued wisdom, good health, and long life, acknowledging the wealth of knowledge and experience he brings to the state and nation.
