Kano, Alhaji Baba Danteye, former President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), has expressed grief and shock over the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Danteye told the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) in a telephone interview on Sunday,”May the Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
” Buhari’s life was a fulfilled one, worthy of emulation.”
He praised Buhari as an honest and trustworthy leader, both in his military and civilian administrations.
Alhaji Abubakar Shamsuddeen of Gwale LGA ,described Buhari as an honest and trusted leader who worked tirelessly to ensure the nation’s cooporate existence.
He remembered Buhari as a quintessential public servant dedicated to serving Nigeria and prayed that Allah would grant him a place among the righteous in Aljannah Firdaus.
Shamsuddeen said, “Buhari’s life is widely regarded as exemplary and worthy of emulation among Nigerians.
“Notably, he fought against corruption during his military era and as well as a civilian President and implemented various measures that had shaped Nigeria’s current trajectory.”
He prayed that Allah would grant him a place among the righteous ones in Aljannah Firdaus.
Alhaji Abba Mohammad of Tauroni Quarters, praised Buhari as a detribalised Nigerian, consensus builder, and a selfless leader.
He commended Buhari’s efforts in keeping the country’s unity and urged the Federal Government to extol his qualities as a nation and consensus builder.
Hajiya Safara’u Umaru of Zaria road, described Buhari’s passing as a sad loss to the country.
She commended his patriotic contributions to Nigeria’s development and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
She said, “Buhari played a significant role in preserving Nigeria’s corporate existence as a nation, leaving a lasting impact for future generations.”
Mr Dauda Yusuf, a resident of Bagauda village of Babeji LGA, described Buhari’s passing as a sad loss to the entire country.
Yusuf commended Buhari’s patriotic contributions to Nigeria’s development and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
He said that Buhari played a significant role in preserving Nigeria’s corporate existence, particularly during the civil war era.
Yusuf said, “As military Head of State, Buhari introduced the War Against Indiscipline, which had a lasting impact on Nigeria’s moral fabric.”
He prayed that Allah would reward Buhari with paradise and forgive his shortcomings.
