Kano Delegation Engages Federal Ministries of Defence and Interior

A high-level delegation from the Kano State Government, led by the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo, paid a working visit to the Honourable Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, and the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja.
The visit aimed to strengthen intergovernmental collaboration and expand employment opportunities for Kano State’s teeming youth in the Nigerian Armed Forces, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and other paramilitary agencies.
Rt. Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo reiterated the Kano State Government’s commitment to leveraging federal partnerships to increase access to recruitment into the military and paramilitary services for qualified Kano State indigenes.
The delegation sought to explore avenues for filling existing federal vacancies and advocating for an increase in the recruitment quota allocated to Kano State.
The Kano delegation included Alhaji Ado Danjummai Wudil, Executive Secretary, Guidance and Counselling Board; Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Kabara, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties; Ibrahim Abdulkarim, Director, Administration and General Services; and Murtala Iliyasu, Director of Guidance.
The Honourable Ministers welcomed the delegation and commended the initiative as timely and visionary.
They emphasized the importance of robust collaboration between federal and state governments in enhancing national security and promoting economic development. Both ministers praised the Kano State Government’s proactive efforts toward youth empowerment and pledged to ensure that Kano receives its fair share of recruitment opportunities.
