Appointment

The Emir of Gaya, Alhaji (Dr.) Aliyu Ibrahim Gaya, has approved the appointment of the Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil, Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai, as Sarkin Kudun Gaya.
The appointment was contained in a letter dated June 13, 2025, and signed by Wamban Gaya and Senior Councillor (Admin.) Gaya Emirate Council, Alhaji Mansur Ibrahim Gaya.
According to the letter, the appointment is based on Prof. Yakasai’s track record of service, dedication, and personal attributes displayed over the years.
The Emir expressed hope that Prof. Yakasai would exhibit these sterling qualities in discharging his assignments and contribute to the betterment and advancement of Gaya Emirate Council and the state in general.
The acting Vice Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University, Prof. Nouruddeen Bashir Umar, has congratulated Prof. Yakasai on his appointment.
On behalf of the Chancellor, Chairman of Council, members of Council, Management, University Senate, Staff, and Students of the University, Prof. Umar described the appointment as well-deserved.
The date of the turbaning ceremony for the new Sarkin Kudu, who is currently on pilgrimage in Makka, Saudi Arabia, would be communicated by the Emir of Gaya in due course.
The appointment of Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai as Sarkin Kudun Gaya is a testament to his hard work and dedication to his profession.
The university community and the entire Gaya Emirate Council have reason to rejoice over this appointment, which is expected to bring more honor and prestige to the institution and the emirate.
