Emir Sanusi marks sixth day in palace, consolidates position as lawful Ruler of Kano,

Kano, As Muhammadu Sunusi II marks his sixth day at the palace, influential figures from Kano and beyond continue to pledge their allegiance to him as the 16th Fulani Emir of Kano.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that more district heads and members of the Tijjaniyya Shura Council, a diverse array of dignitaries, including politicians, have affirmed their loyalty to him.
Under the leadership of Khalifa Sheikh Sani Shehu Maihula, the Tijjaniyya Shura Council reiterated its unwavering support for the Emir.
Other prominent individuals such as Khalifa Sayyadi Bashir, Khalifa Abdullahi Uwaisu, Sheikh Ibrahim Shehu Maihula and Barrister Habibu Dan Almajiri, have also endorsed Sanusi as the rightful Emir of Kano.
During his initial court session on Sunday, Emir Sanusi received the fealty of 40 district heads and prominent individuals within the council.
Since taking up residence at the palace, these district heads and council members have humbly prostrated before him, symbolically acknowledging his position as the Emir of Kano.
This ongoing display of support solidifies Emir Sanusi’s position as the lawful ruler of Kano.
The Kofar Kudu palace of the Emir has been a beehive of activities with people from various parts of the city trooping to witness royal displays and performances including the sustained traditional gun salutes for the Emir and the riding of well-decorated horses by palace aides.
Hawkers of various wares have also taken positions in front of the palace selling foods, drinks, textile materials,shoes and prayer mats,among others.
Praise singers and drummers also throng the palace daily, treating guests coming from various parts of the country to pay homage to the re-appointed Emir.
Meanwhile,residents of the city are looking forward to seeing the Emir lead this Friday prayer,as he did during his first reign then as the 14th Fulani Emir of Kano.
Meanwhile in spite of the ongoing Emirship controversy, residents of Kano State are going about with their daily activities without hindrance.
Many of them have even commended the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for reversing the previous administration’s decision and re-appointing Malam Sunusi Lamido Sunusi as the 16th Fulani Emir of Kano.
One of them is Abdullahi Yakubu of Gwale in Gwale Local Government Area who feels that by reinstalling Sanusi, the government had brought about a positive change that tallied with the wishes of majority of the people of the state.
Yakubu described Governor Yusuf “as a true son of his father for being there for Kano people.”
On his part,Alhaji Musa Isa of Dala in Dala Local Government Area called on the deposed Emir Bayero,Aminu Ado Bayero,to accept the will of God and congratulate his brother, Emir Sanusi.
Isa pointed out that there can only be one Emir at a time and urged Emir Bayero to forget it and move on, as “Allah has spoken through the installation of Emir Sanusi.”
He also encouraged Emir Bayero to put aside any grievances and work towards the progress of Kano State.
On his part,Alhaji Kabiru Abubakar of Dakata quarters said people in the area are more concerned about their livelihoods than the Emirship controversy.
Hajiya Aishatu Danlami of Brigade quarters in her remark,commended the state government for banning protests, preventing miscreants from taking advantage and causing violence and looting in the city.
Aishatu praised residents of the city for resisting provocation from individuals seeking to create confusion in the state.
“Allah has spoken, and Emir Sanusi is now in the palace, piloting the affairs of the Emirate. May Allah continue to guide him to bring about the progress we desire,” she added.
Meanwhile,Emir Sanusi has taken full charge of the Kano Emirate, with the residents rallying behind him, trusting that he will bring about the positive change they have been yearning for.
