Kano, Sen. Sani Musa, (APC-Niger) has called on Muslims to emulate Prophet Ibrahim’s virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and submissiveness to Allah’s will for success in life.
This is contained in a statement he issued in Kano on Friday on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
He said that obedience to the rule of law and peaceful coexistence were essential for development and urged Nigerians to live in harmony in spite of their differences.
Musa, who is the chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, urged Muslims to ponder over the true meaning of Sallah, which he said, underscored the importance of love, sacrifice, and support for the vulnerable.
“I call on Muslims to reflect on the values of Eid-el-Kabir, including love, sacrifice, and kindness towards the less privileged.
The lawmaker noted that every country had its unique journey to development and prosperity even as he urged Nigerians to remain patient and work collectively towards a better future.
“I call on the Muslim community to utilise the Sallah occasion to offer prayers for our leaders, seeking good governance and wise leadership.”
“Let us use the Sallah period to pray for our leaders, that they may be endowed with wisdom and integrity to govern effectively.” he said.
