Zulum Orders Immediate Prosecution of Man in Viral Child Molestation Video

Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, of Borno state has directed the immediate prosecution of Bukar Modu, who appeared in a disturbing viral video allegedly molesting a minor, Bashir Gaji.
Following the governor’s orders, Modu was arrested by security operatives on Saturday night in Maiduguri.
Governor Zulum emphasized that his administration won’t tolerate any form of child abuse or exploitation, directing relevant authorities to swiftly bring the perpetrator to justice.
The governor instructed the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to develop community awareness programs to educate families and guardians on proper discipline methods for children.
Governor Zulum announced plans to provide a fully furnished house for Bashir Gaji and his family, who currently reside in an IDP camp in Monguno.
The governor also offered a scholarship to cover Bashir’s education, aiming to support the child’s well-being and future.
Bashir Gaji’s family has been living in an IDP camp since his father was assassinated by Boko Haram insurgents.
The governor’s intervention seeks to provide stability and protection for the vulnerable child ¹.
