Sokoto Monarch Praises Usmanu Danfodiyo Versity’s Campus Radio on Its First Anniversary

Sokoto, Dr. Muhammad Jabbi Kilgori, Sa’in Kilgori and former three-time Sokoto State Commissioner, has lauded the students and staff of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto for the outstanding performance of the institution Campus FM Radio station, which recently marked its one-year anniversary.
Kilgori advised student journalists and broadcasters to prioritize professionalism, factual reporting, balanced storytelling, and responsible journalism.
He encouraged local residents to motivate their children to study mass communication, emphasizing its importance in today’s world.
Kilgori expressed delight over the successful accreditation and teaching of Mass Communication as a degree course at the university, a long-awaited development.
The Campus Radio transmits 10 hours of news and programs daily, serving surrounding communities, including Dundaye, Kwalkwalawa, Gomburawa, and parts of Sokoto North, Kware, and Wamakko Local Governments.
The radio station is run and managed by Mass Communication students.
The Mass Communication department has approximately 200 students and 12 lecturers.
