Kano Govt condemns gruesome killing of 16 travelers in Edo

Kano,  The Kano State government has strongly condemned the brutal killing of at least 16 travelers in Uromi, Edo State.

This is contained in a statement issued by Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Ibrahim Waiya in Kano on Saturday.

Waiya described the incident as a heinous act that must be met with an unwavering response from security and judicial institutions.

The victims, predominantly hunters from Rivers State, were ambushed by a vigilante group and armed youths while traveling to Kano to celebrate Sallah with their families.

The statement call all individuals found complicit in the atrocity must be brought to justice, including law enforcement personnel who may have neglected their duty.

The Kano State government reaffirms its commitment to supporting efforts to strengthen the security framework, including better equipping police forces and ensuring victims’ access to justice and redress.
