ADUSTECH to Host NUGA Games in February

The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology Wudil (ADUSTECH) is to host the forthcoming council of Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA) zone E fixed for 18-24th February 2025.

A press statement Chairman Local Organizing Committee LOC Publicity Committee of the preliminaries, Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi said the resolution was reached during the Council’s meeting at ADUSTECH Wudil, attended by representatives of universities from the Zone.

The Council also deliberated on the events, moderlities, rules, regulations and necessary facilities to be provided.

Meanwhile, chairman of Local Organizing Committee Prof. Abdulkadir Muhammad Danbazau has reiterated readiness of ADUSTECH to successfully host the competition.

He, however, solicited the support of the Council members, even as he appreciated their meaningful considerations during the meeting.

Other highlights of the meeting include election of Prof. Mustapha Abubakar from FUDMA and Nura Muhammad of ADUSTECH as Chairman and Secretary of NUGA Council Zone E respectively.

The Council members inspected sports facilities on the Campus as well as a visit on the Vice Chancellor Prof. Musa Tukur Yakasai.

He told them that, the Institution is determined to prioritize sports for development noting that, studies goes along with sports, as such more facilities.are to be provided.

“We are looking beyond NUGA Preliminaries, developing the sports generally we are hosting Man ‘O’ War.

We are planning to upgrade our facilities and create new ones especially Beach Soccer and Beach Volleyball fitches along the River side.”

Prof. Yakasai has assured members of the Council and Local Organizing Committee of NUGA preliminaries of university’s commitment to a successful tournament.

Earlier, the co-chairman of the LOC, Prof. Adamu Abdullahi informed the Vice Chancellor about the level of preparations towards the forthcoming preliminaries to be hosted by ADUSTECH.

Also speaking, Prof. Musa Garba Yakasai, Chairman Technical Committee of NUGA and Chairman Sports Committee Bayero University Kano (BUK), Prof. Rabiu Muhammad, Director of Sports BUK appreciate the sports potentials of the University Wudil.

They however, call for more efforts to upgrade existing facilities.

“Sports goes with academics, hence we will collaborate with you towards developjng it. More sports have been introduced by NUGA, therefore we need ADUSTECH to compete.”
