Kano, The National Assembly is taking a cautious approach to President Tinubu’s proposed tax reforms bill, refusing to rush its passage into law.

Hon. Ado Alhassan Doguwa, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Downstream Petroleum, believes the bill is good for Nigeria but emphasizes the need for careful consideration to avoid hasty legislation.

Doguwa, also Leader of the Northern Regional Caucus, commends the House leadership for organizing an interactive session to clarify the bill’s contents and intentions.

He stresses the importance of further consultations at state and regional levels to raise awareness among members and stakeholders.

The proposed bill deals with fiscal federalism, resource sharing, and key government institutions, making it crucial to study the bill diligently and consider each clause carefully.

Doguwa’s stance reflects the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring the bill serves the people’s and national interests.
