Kano State Governor Distributes Sports Kits to Football Clubs, Revives State Football Association

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has distributed sports kits to 600 football clubs across the state’s 44 local government areas. The governor also presented appointment letters to Kano Pillars Board members, assuring them of his administration’s support.

Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of football as a lucrative venture worldwide, stressing that youths deserve to engage in the sport. He noted that some indigenes of the state are currently playing professionally abroad, supporting their families and contributing to the state’s economic growth.

The governor reiterated his commitment to empowering youths, whether in football or other fields. He assured that the Kano Sports Institute, currently under rehabilitation, would be equipped with necessary facilities, offering free accommodation and feeding to students.

Governor Yusuf also vowed to revive the Kano Pillars Club, which had declined during the previous administration. He announced plans to resuscitate the Kano Football Producing Company, providing jobs for the state’s youth.

The state Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, praised Governor Yusuf as the most youth-friendly governor in Nigeria, citing his commitment to youth and sports development.
