Kwankwaso’s Welcomes 1,000 APC Supporters to NNPP in Kano

Defections

Kano, Over 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have defected to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), just before the local government elections.

This mass defection, involving members from Ungogo, Kabo, and Takai local government areas, effectively collapses the APC structure in those areas ¹.

The defectors, now loyal to Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the National leader of NNPP, have pledged to secure block votes for NNPP candidates in the upcoming council polls.

According to Alhaji Sabiu, who spoke on behalf of the defectors, they lost confidence in the APC leadership and seek to bring government presence to their constituencies by joining NNPP ¹.

Kwankwaso welcomed the new members, promising equal treatment within the party.

He emphasized NNPP’s commitment to socio-economic and political progress, envisioning a brighter future for Nigeria, particularly in the 2027 elections ¹.

This development follows Kwankwaso’s earlier statement that Nigerians are tired of the current government and will seek change in 2027.

He urged Nigerians to rethink their support for the APC, citing its failure to address poverty and insecurity ¹.
