Kano, The Kano State Government has donated N100 million to support victims of the recent fire disaster in Majia, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
Governor Abba Yusuf announced the donation during a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi Danmodi at the Government House in Dutse.
Yusuf emphasizing that the funds are meant to provide relief to families of those who lost their lives and support treatment for the injured ¹.
Governor Yusuf highlighted the strong historical and cultural ties between Kano and Jigawa States, underscoring Kano’s solidarity with its neighbors during this difficult time.
He also extended condolences to bereaved families and those recovering from injuries, offering prayers to prevent future tragedies.
Governor Umar Namadi expressed gratitude on behalf of Jigawa State, thanking Kano for its generous support.
He assured that the funds would be used judiciously to aid victims and their families. As of Thursday evening, 167 lives had been lost, and 67 people were receiving treatment at various medical facilities.
