Defection

Kano, The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has welcomed no fewer than 1,766 supporters to the ruling party in the state members of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Tofa and Rimingado Local Government Areas of the state.
The National Leader of the party, Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Wednesday in Kano welcomed the defectors led by Mr Baffa Galadima, President of Rimingado Youth Council, and Musa Dandole Dokadawa, SDP Chairman of Rimingado LGA with about 1,120 supporters to NNPP.
The defectors, from.Tofa LGA which also included the 11 immediate past councillors of All Progressives Congress (APC). and 646 members, from 11 wards, cited selfless leadership by Gov. Abba Yusuf as the reason for their departure.
Kwankwaso expressed satisfaction with the growing support, attributing it to the party’s strong ideological foundation.
He highlighted NNPP’s commitment to education, symbolized by its new logo featuring a book and graduation cap, and emphasized the party’s slogan, “New Nigeria, Education for All” .
This development is a significant boost for NNPP as it political growth.
He said that the party’s growth is notable, especially considering its relatively recent expansion under Kwankwaso’s leadership.
Sen.Kwankwaso explained that NNPP has become a major player in Kano politics and called on eligible members to come out and cast their votes to all the candidates in October 26 local governmentelections.
