Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to improving education standards across all levels in Kano State.

During an inspection visit to Government Girls Boarding Secondary School in Albasu, the governor emphasized his administration’s focus on revitalizing the education sector.

Since taking office, the governor’s administration has prioritized the renovation of girls’ boarding secondary schools, which were closed down by the previous administration.

Governor Yusuf expressed disappointment at the neglect of these schools and assured that his administration will complete the renovations and reopen them to enhance girls’ education.

“We have seen the level of deterioration in this school, and it’s unfortunate that the previous administration closed down many boarding secondary schools without concern.

We will complete the renovation soon and reopen all girls’ boarding secondary schools that were closed down,” he said.

In a related development, Governor Yusuf visited an erosion-affected area in Albasu Local Government to assess the damage caused by heavy rainfall.

He directed the relevant ministry to take prompt measures to address the challenge.
