Gov. Yusuf, vows to combat corruption to deliver democracy dividends

Dawakin Kudu , Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption, emphasizing its importance in ensuring the provision of democracy dividends to the people of the state.
He made this declaration on Saturday while inaugurating a capacity-building workshop on anti-corruption principles for Kano State directors, held at Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.
Governor Yusuf, represented by Deputy Governor Aminu Gwarzo, stated that the administration is resolute in implementing people-oriented policies and programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of the citizens through good democratic governance.
He underscored that this objective can only be achieved by combating corruption in all its forms.
He made this call during a one-day capacity-building training organized by the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission for Kano State directors, held at Dawakin Kudi Local Government Area.
Yusuf emphasized that the NNPP Administration has zero tolerance for corruption, and therefore, all directors should be guided accordingly.
He appealed to participants to make adequate use of the opportunity to enhance effective service delivery.
In his remarks, Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, stated that the aim of the workshop was to equip civil service directors with the knowledge to shun corruption and all corrupt practices.
He noted that his agency had previously checked misappropriation of public funds under the immediate past administration and warned that anyone found wanting would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The zonal commander of the EFCC and the state commander of ICPC commended the Kano state government for collaborating with anti-graft agencies to organize the capacity-building training, aimed at fighting corruption.(
