Emir Sunusi Condemns Violence, Destruction During Protests

Kano, The Emir of Kano, Malam Mohammadu Sunusi, 11 expressed deep sadness over the violent incidents that occurred in Kano during the nationwide protests.

The Emir spoke while addressing newsmen at his palace on Friday.

Emir Sunusi described the destruction of lives and property as “very unfortunate.”

The Emir extended his condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones and appealed to parents to monitor their children closely to prevent them from being used as agents of destruction.

He specifically mentioned the vandalism of the multi-million naira NCC office as a setback for Kano State.

Emir Sunusi emphasized that anyone or group instigating trouble does not represent the interests of Kano State.

He called on the good people of Kano to expose those responsible for fomenting trouble and urged everyone to pray for peace, progress, and political stability in the state.

The Emir Sunusi also sympathized with those who lost property during the demonstrations, showing his concern for the well-being of his people.

The Emir Sunusi, appealed to the good people of Kano State to reject any items stolen during the recent protests and to report anyone or group of people attempting to sell such items to the nearest security office for immediate action.

He emphasized that by doing so, those responsible for the theft and vandalism will be exposed and brought to justice.

The Emir’s statement aims to discourage the buying and selling of stolen goods, which can perpetuate the cycle of violence and undermine efforts to maintain peace and stability in the state.
