Kano State Government Reaffirms Commitment to Educational Advancement

The Kano State Government has reiterated its dedication to transforming the educational landscape into a more unified, inclusive, and responsive framework.

This commitment was reaffirmed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the inauguration of the two-day Kano State Education Recovery Conference held at Bayero University, Kano.

The conference, themed “Repositioning Education in Kano: Navigating the Path to Excellence,” was organized in collaboration with the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) and the Arewa Consultative Forum. Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of education as a catalyst for individual and communal success, economic advancement, and prosperity.

The Governor highlighted his administration’s initiatives over the past year, including a 30% increase in budgetary allocation, construction and restoration of classrooms, settlement of examination fees, enlistment of BESDA instructors, sponsorship of postgraduate scholars, and provision of instructional materials to primary and secondary schools.

The conference aimed to formulate strategic interventions to rejuvenate and elevate the education sector in Kano State, ensuring access to quality education for all. It also facilitated discussions on education accessibility, quality, and parity, and fostered partnerships and collaborations.

The Kano State Government is committed to harnessing the outcomes of the conference to envision a future where no child in Kano is marginalized.
