NSCDC cracks down on vandalism and theft in Kano, arrests 5 suspects

Kano, The Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested five suspects in Kano for alleged vandalism and theft.
The Commandant of the Corps, Mohammad Lawal-Falala, disclosed this to newsmen in Kano, on Tuesday said that the suspects were apprehended by the Anti-Vandalism unit during midnight patrols.
Two suspects, Adnan Umar (26) and Musa Shuayb (24), were caught vandalizing streetlight armored cables on IBB Way, Fagge/Kofar Wambai new market. They were also attempting to make off with three rolls of copper wire.
In a separate incident, three suspected motorcycle thieves, including a receiver, were arrested. The suspects are Saminu Magaji (19), Haruna Idris (22), and Ahmed Abubakar (38), the receiver. The Commandant noted that two other suspects are still at large.
The suspects, who hail from Gwammaja, Dala LGA, Kano State, specialize in breaking and burgling homes, stealing motorcycles, and personal belongings.
The five suspects are currently being investigated and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
This crackdown by the NSCDC is a significant step towards curbing vandalism and theft in Kano, and the Corps is committed to ensuring the safety and security of citizens and their properties.
