Kano Govt. committed to ensure waste-free environment, Garo

Kano, Kano state Commissioner for Environment, Nasiru Sule Garo, has reiterated the commitment of the state government towards ensuring clean and waste-free environment across the state.
The Commissioner stated this, on Wednesday, while receiving the new managing Director of Kano Sustainable Project (KSP), Usaini Sarki Aliyu Madobi, who visited his office.
According to a Statement by Ismail Garba Gwammaja, Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Environment, the Commissioner charged the Managing Director to be proactive in reviving the agency in view of its significance to the wellbeing of the teeming populace.
Garo also explained that the present administration is committed and desirous to improve the living standard and ensure clean and healthy environment, devoid of waste.
“I personally discovered and witnessed a lot of issues during my visitation to the agency as a Commissioner for Environment. With the commitment and zeal by the present administration, all the issues would be address adequately,” he said.
In his remarks, Alhaji Aliyu Madobi, said he led his team to the Commissioner’s office to formally introduce himself and discuss vital issues regarding the agency for possible consideration.
He highlighted some of the issues bedeviling the smooth operation of the agency to include: the permanent site, operational vehicles, dilapidated equipment, among other issues.
He solicited for the support of the Commissioner to look into the requests, with a view to finding lasting solutions, “so that we will support the government in its desire to achieve maximum success.”he concluded
