
Northern States CSO Frowns NNPC Executive Chairman’s Reinstatement

A Non Governmental Organization Known as Conference of Northern States Civil Society Networks operating in the Nineteen Northern States have frowned against the reinstatement of, Ifeanyi Ararume, as the Executive Chairman of National Petroleum Corporation Limited.
The Network in a communique expressed deep concern that despite the recent court judgement that directed federal government to reinstate Ararume, the Corporation has severally indicted Ararume on different corrupt cases.
It called on the federal government to redeem the good image of NNPCL by appealing the court order, saying the ugly development will affect oil exploration in some parts of the country.
They urged the federal government to analyze the impact of the court ruling on the economy and take necessary steps to ensure that the integrity of the country is not compromised.
They further said the network is committed towards promoting good governance and rule of law in the country.
They advised stakeholders in the country to work together to ensure that the interest of Nigeria is protected.
They urged federal government to proceed for an appeal against the the ruling as soon as possible.
