Kano 2023: NNPP leads with 153,103 votes, APC 142,981 votes in 9 LGAs

Kano, The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the results from nine out of the 44 local government areas in Kano State with the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) leading with 153,103 votes.
The results were presented on Sunday at the INEC Collation Centre in Kano to the Returning Officer for the poll, Prof. Ibrahim Doko, the Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
According to the results, NNPP’s Abba Kabiru Yusuf is in early lead, while Malam Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had so far won three local government areas with 142,981 votes.

The NNPP had so far won in Rano, Rogo, Wudil, Karaye, Minjibir and Albasu Local Government Areas, while APC won in Tsanyawa, Makoda and Kunchi LGAs.

The collated results also showed that Mr Sadiq Aminu Wali of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) scored 1,237 votes from the nine declared LGAs.

A breakdown of the results so far released are as follow:

  1. Rano LGA: APC – 17,090 votes, NNPP – 18,040 votes and PDP – 225 votes.
  2. Rogo LGA: APC – 11,112 votes, NNPP – 18,559 votes, and PDP – 124 votes.
  3. Makoda LGA: APC – 15,006 votes, NNPP – 13,956 votes, and PDP – 101 votes.
  4. Kunchi LGA: APC – 13,215 votes, NNPP – 10,674 votes, and PDP – 39 votes.
  5. Wudil LGA: APC – 20,299 votes, NNPP – 21,740 votes and PDP – 118 votes.
  6. Karaye LGA: APC – 14,515 votes, NNPP – 15,838 votes, and PDP – 77 votes.
  7. Minjibir LGA: APC – 16,039 votes, NNPP – 17,575 votes and PDP – 189 votes.
  8. Albasu LGA: APC – 16,959 votes, NNPP – 19,952 votes, and PDP – 293 votes.
  9. Tsanyawa LGA: APC – 18,746 votes, NNPP – 16,769 votes, and PDP – 71 votes.

The collation of results from the 44 local government areas of the state is ongoing at the INEC headquarters in Kano.
