governorship candidate in Sokoto State, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, has promised to prioritise security, health, Education, power, water, agriculture and job creations if elected.
Speaking to Newsworth in an exclusive interview in Sokoto on Wednesday,Aliyu, promised to support security agencies with require modern security facilities to perform optimally.
He said that , he would sustain and consolidate on the security and relative peace enjoyed in the state,by according priority attention to security sector to enable residents move on with their legitimate business.
Adding that “security brings about development and prosperity to the society, we should drive to maintain it.
” We will increase partnership with the security agencies to ensure that Sokoto people continue to coexist in peace and harmony”, he said .
On Agriculture the governorship hopeful promise to ensure the provision of modern farming implements at government-controlled rates across the local government areas of the state to boost all-year-round farming.
Aliyu , said that the provision of modern farming inputs for rural dwellers would ensure massive food production and job creation among the teaming unemployed youths in the state.
The governorship hopeful said the party had worked out blue print to end perennial water scarcity in Sokoto state and metropolis and other major towns across the state.
” We will expand water supply to all nook and crannies of the Sokoto city to enable people have access to portable drinking water for human and animal consumption.
” We will utilise dams and provide assorted farming implements at subsidised rate to enhance massive food production for all year farming.
“The APC administration will revamp education sector through provision of conducive atmosphere of learning for our children, and accord priority to the health sector through provision of modern facilities to enhance quality healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
“We will set up skill acquisition centres across the 23 LGAs to train our teaming unemployed youth and women into various trades to enable them self reliant”,he said.
” I am appealing to eligible Sokoto residents to vote for credible and committed candidates in March 11 governorship and state assembly election.
We have make ourselves available to serve our people to the best of our ability through good democratic governance”, Aliyu said.
While advising the electorate to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), Aliyu urged them to shun electoral violence and vote for APC candidates in March 11 for sustainable development of the state.
