Kano – September 8, 2026 – The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has expressed sadness over the death of the Barden Ƙerarriyar Kano, Shehu Kabir Bayero, who died in Cairo, Egypt.
This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s Director General, Media and Publicity, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday.
Yusuf described the death of Bayero as a great loss to the Kano Emirate, his family, friends and the people of Kano State.
He described the deceased as a respected traditional title holder who dedicated himself to the service of the Kano Emirate and the promotion of its cultural heritage.
The governor extended condolences to the Kano Emirate, the deceased’s family, relatives and associates, and prayed to Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
He also prayed Allah to grant the family, the Kano Emirate and all those affected by the loss the strength to bear it.
