Gov Yusuf appoints Umar Maggi as Special Adviser on Assembly Matters

Kano – July 4, 2026 – Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the appointment of Umar Musa Gama, popularly known as Umar Maggi, as Special Adviser on Assembly Matters.

This was contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

Maggi, a former lawmaker, represented his constituency in the 9th Kano State House of Assembly, where he was noted for legislative service and commitment to the development of the state.

He previously served as Special Adviser on School Feeding and contributed to the implementation of the state’s school feeding programme.

Yusuf expressed confidence that Maggi’s legislative experience and understanding of government processes would strengthen coordination between the Executive and the Kano State House of Assembly.

The governor urged the new appointee to bring his experience and commitment to bear in discharging his responsibilities to support the administration’s delivery of good governance and quality service to the people.
