Yusuf mourns ex-commissioner Yola

Kano, Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has expressed shock and sorrow over the death of former Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development, Dr Mahmud Baffa Yola, who died after a prolonged illness.
This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday.
Yusuf described the late Dr Baffa Yola as a committed public servant who made significant contributions to the development of water resources and rural communities in Kano State.
He said the deceased dedicated his life to public service with integrity, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
The governor noted that the passing of the former commissioner was a huge loss to Kano State, considering the role he played in shaping policies and programmes that improved the lives of people, particularly in rural communities.
“We have lost a public-spirited individual who devoted his time and energy to the development of society. His contributions to the service of our state will continue to be remembered,” Governor Yusuf said.
He extended condolences to the family of the deceased, friends, associates and the people of Kano State, praying to Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give his family the strength to bear the loss.
