Yusuf inaugurates foreign, domestic scholarship programme for 490 students

Kano, Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State on Wednesday reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to revitalising education in Kano State, inaugurating the second phase of the Foreign and Domestic Scholarship Programme.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the programme will benefit 490 students, with 350 pursuing Master’s Degrees abroad and 240 in private Nigerian universities.
Yusuf urged the beneficiaries to excel academically and contribute to the state’s development.
He explained that the education sector received the highest allocation in the 2025 budget, citing achievements like classrooms’ construction and over N2 billion spent on registration fees for Kano indigenes.
Deputy Governor, Alhaji Abdulsalam Gwarzo, urged the beneficiaries to excel academically and contribute to Kano’s development, making the state and Nigeria proud.
The Executive Secretary of the Kano State Scholarship Board, Dr. Hamisu Danzaki, described the initiative as a testament to the administration’s commitment to education.
Madakin Kano, Yusuf Nabahani, commended the programme, while Malam Abubakar Musa,praised Yusuf’s dedication to education.
