Police nab 2 over alleged armed robbery, recover illicit drugs

Kano, The Police Command in Kano State has arrested two suspects, Nura Sani and Ibrahim Lawan, over robbery incidents on Sept. 14, 2025, at Tokarawa Quarters.
During the incident a Mercedes Benz GLK valued at N26.5 million was allegedly stolen.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the suspects were apprehended in Kano following a tip-off.
Kiyawa said the police also recovered 540 packets of suspected Pregabalin capsules valued at N40.5 million in Jalli Village, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
Additionally, operatives intercepted two suspects with seven bags of suspected “Akuskura” liquid intoxicants worth N2.45 million.
“The Command has handed over the recovered cases, including suspects and over N120 million worth of suspected Tramadol, Pregabalin, and Cannabis Sativa, to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation,’ he said.
He quoted the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ibrahim Bakori, as commending the bravery and professionalism of the officers involved in the operation.
He also appreciated the public’s support, reiterating the Command’s commitment to building a safer Kano State.
