Kano, Kano State APC supporters and Ulamas from all the 44 Local Government Areas on Thursday gathered for special prayers and animal sacrifices to seek divine support for President Bola Tinubu’s second term bid and Sen. Barau Jibrin’s gubernatorial ambition.
The event, held in Kurna, Kano Municipal, attracted hundreds of attendees.
Seyi Olorunshaya, one of the organisers, stated that the prayers aimed to secure divine support for Tinubu’s reelection and Barau’s gubernatorial bid.
He praised Tinubu’s achievements, highlighting road projects, reduced food prices, employment opportunities, and improved security.
Olorunshaya emphasised that Tinubu had remained faithful to his campaign promises, deserving another mandate, and expressed confidence that Nigerians will see greater wonders in his second term.
Olorunshaya explained that the group was backing Barau for Governor due to his political strength, which can potentially unseat the ruling NNPP in 2027.
He highlighted the TBA strategy, leveraging Minister Yusuf Atta’s influence in Kano Central and Sen. Kawu’s presence in Kano South.
“With Sen. Barau in Kano North, we believe victory is achievable,” he said.
Sheikh Saminu Khalid Abdullahi, Leader of the Ulamas, described the TBA Movement as a grassroots platform to consolidate support for Tinubu, Senator Barau, and Atta, aiming to strengthen goodwill and political support for the 2027 elections.
The event concluded with the slaughtering of rams as symbolic sacrifices for their electoral success.
