Yusuf Employs 1,038 Agricultural Extension Officers

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has presented employment letters to 1,038 young agricultural extension agents and support staff for the State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority.

The Governor charged the new employees to take their responsibilities seriously, warning them to shun absenteeism, laziness, misconduct, and corruption. 

He described them as “change agents” in agriculture and agribusiness, tasked with guiding, connecting, and facilitating farmers to maximize productivity.

Governor Yusuf noted that the new employees would bring modern practices, improved inputs, and innovative solutions to farms, cooperatives, and communities. 

He thanked stakeholders who worked tirelessly to make this milestone a reality.

The State Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud, said the employment is aimed at enhancing food security and increasing citizens’ income. 

The Chairperson of the Kano Civil Service Commission, Hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, described the gesture as a giant stride to strengthen the agricultural workforce.

One of the beneficiaries, Saminu Sani Garba, expressed gratitude to the Governor and assured that they would work to enhance agricultural production in the state.
