Sharia Council Bans DJs in Rano

The Sharia Council in Rano Local Government Area, Kano State, has banned the use of DJs at wedding ceremonies to curb immoral activities.
This decision was made by the council’s chairman, Malam Idris Garba, during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Rano Islamic Center.
The Sharia Council views the activities of DJs at weddings as promoting immorality and behavior contrary to Islamic values.
The Waziri of Rano, Malam Kabiru Sani, representing the Emir, cited relevant Quranic verses and reaffirmed the Emirate Council’s full support for the ban.
The Chairman of Rano Local Government Council, Malam Naziru Yau, condemned indecent acts during weddings and warned that anyone sponsoring or participating in such activities would face the law.
The Hisbah Commandant and Director of Personnel Management urged traditional leaders to report defaulters in their communities for immediate action.
