Kano govt. begins salary verification exercise

Kano, The Kano State Government has begun an inspection tour of salary validation centres to promote transparency and accountability in salary administration across the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ibrahim, led the inspection team to verify staff records.

According to him, the team aims to eliminate payroll discrepancies and ensure rightful salary payments through this inspection initiative.

“This aligns with the government’s commitment to financial prudence and efficient civil service management in Kano State,” he said.

Ibrahim reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to eliminating inefficiencies in salary payments and promoting a transparent, accountable payroll system.

The inspection tour covered multiple validation centres, engaging with civil servants undergoing the verification process.

At the Pilgrims Welfare Board, Ibrahim assured civil servants of timely salary payments before Sallah, provided they complete the verification exercise.

He emphasised that salary-related challenges have now been effectively addressed by the government.

The validation exercise will continue at various centres to ensure full compliance with payroll integrity measures.

Ibrahim expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for his dedication to the welfare of civil servants and the people of Kano State.

Head of Civil Service, Alh. Abdullahi Musa, highlighted the importance of proper salary administration in good governance and accurate staff capturing.

Some employees welcomed the initiative, recognising its potential to enhance fairness and efficiency in salary payments across the civil service.
