China Pledges to Strengthen Bilateral Ties with Kano State

The Chinese government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Kano State, aiming to enhance infrastructural development and boost industrial growth in the state. 

This assurance was given by Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Yu Dunhai, during a courtesy visit to the Kano State Government House.

While receiving the ambassador, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf emphasized Kano’s strategic position as a commercial hub, offering opportunities for investment, access to raw materials, and a large market.

 The governor acknowledged China’s economic leadership and its contributions to Nigeria’s economy, including trade, investment, infrastructure, and financial assistance.

Key Areas of Cooperation:*

– _Food Security_: China aims to support Kano’s food production, leveraging agricultural machinery to enhance food security.

– _Infrastructure Development_: China will collaborate with Kano to improve infrastructure, including transportation and energy systems.

-_Education and Trade_: China will strengthen educational exchanges and trade partnerships with Kano, promoting cultural and economic cooperation.

Ambassador Dunhai urged Kano State to tap into China’s $20 trillion investment opportunities in Nigeria, highlighting China’s leading role in renewable energy and electric vehicle manufacturing.

Governor Yusuf welcomed the ambassador’s proposal, assuring that his administration is committed to sustaining the bilateral relationship and exploring new areas of cooperation.
