The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced plans to conduct an Education Sector Steering Committee Bi-Annual Conference, reaffirming the present administration’s commitment to prioritizing education.

This conference is a follow-up to the education sector joint steering committee inaugurated in 2024, which aimed to harmonize support from donors and development partners for the state’s education sector.

According to Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, the State Commissioner of Education, the conference will focus on discussing issues related to educational development, strategizing support from donor partners for 2025, and collaborative efforts to achieve quality education in the state.

The conference is expected to address challenges facing the state’s education sector, particularly since the declaration of a State of Emergency on Education.

Dr. Makoda emphasized the importance of stakeholders working together to ensure effective implementation of education policies.

The conference will build upon the progress made during the previous education sector joint steering committee meeting held in Kaduna, where participants discussed the implementation of the 14-points education reform agenda and recommendations from the Kano Education Recovery Conference and Action plan.
