Kano Pensioner Donates N5 Million Gratuity for Mosque Construction

A retired civil servant in Kano State, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi, has made a remarkable donation of his entire gratuity, worth about N5 million, to support the construction of a Jumat mosque in his community of Shangu, Rano Local Government Area.

The donation was announced by Alhaji Abdullahi’s son, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, the village Head of Shangu, who emphasized the importance of the mosque as a center for inculcating correct Islamic knowledge and moral discipline in the young generation.

The emir of Rano, His Highness Ambassador Muhammad Isa Umaru, has granted permission for the committee to proceed with the mosque’s construction and commended Alhaji Bello Abdullahi for his generosity and commitment to community development. The emir emphasized the importance of involving all members of the community in the project and expressed his support for the initiative ¹.

This act of kindness comes at a time when the Kano State Government has allocated additional funds for pension and gratuity payments to retired workers in the state ² ³. The construction of the Jumaat mosque is expected to benefit the community in Shangu and surrounding areas, providing a conducive place of worship and promoting community development.
