Sen.Wamakko Remains a Leader of APC In Sokoto

Sokoto, The All Progressives Congress (APC) North West Alliance for Good Governance (NAGG) has expressed confidence in Senator Dr. Aliyu Wammako’s leadership of the party in Sokoto State, calling the ongoing dispute within the state chapter a needless distraction .

According to Comrade Auwal Shuaibu, Secretary of the group, Senator Wammako has maintained peace and tranquility in the party for years through his able and tactful leadership.

Shuaibu criticized “over ambitious elements” attempting to usurp Wammako’s leadership, questioning their involvement during Wammako’s painstaking efforts to build the party’s structures. 

He urged these individuals to cease causing distractions, allowing the party to focus on delivering democratic dividends to the people of Sokoto ¹.

Ambassador Abdullahi Muhammad, Chairman of the group, emphasized Sokoto State’s significance in Northwest politics and Wammako’s contributions to regional and national development. 

He highlighted Wammako’s guidance and unwavering support for Governor Dr. Aliyu Ahmed, citing recent infrastructure projects, including a 17 billion naira irrigation project in Wurno local government, as evidence of the party’s positive impact ¹.

The APC’s confidence in Wammako’s leadership is further reinforced by the party’s sweep of all 23 chairmanship and 244 councillorship positions in the recent local government elections in Sokoto State.

Wammako’s influence extends beyond politics, as evidenced by his involvement in the 2024 Sokoto State Hajj Delegation, where he facilitated the screening and boarding of pilgrims from various local government areas .
