NNPP Welcomes 1000 APC Supporters in Kano State

Defections

Kano Over 1,000 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), a significant boost to the party’s strength in the region.
This mass defection, which took place in Tofa and Ghari Local Government Areas, aligns the defectors with the Kwankwasiyya movement led by former governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The defectors were warmly received by the state party chairman, Dr. Hashimu Dungurawa, during ceremonies held in both locations.
The events also marked the flag-off of the NNPP’s chairmanship campaign ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
Notable attendees included NNPP candidates Yakubu Ibrahim Adis of Tofa and Hashimu Mai Sabulu of Ghari, who expressed confidence in the party’s growing influence.
This development is seen as a strategic move to solidify NNPP’s foothold in Kano, a key base of Kwankwaso’s political influence.
The impact of these defections will likely be felt in the upcoming elections, as NNPP continues to gain momentum in the region.
