Kano, The Forum of former members of Kano State House of Assembly on Sunday commended President Bola Tinubu for appointing Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, a former Speaker of the assembly, as a minister of the Federal Republic.
The legislature described the appointment as “a strategic effort to bring grassroots politicians into the administration, ultimately benefiting the poor.”
Pharm Dahiru Zarewa, who spoke on behalf of the forum, also praised the appointment as “a well-timed decision to realign the state’s political structure, ensuring equal representation across regions.”
Zarewa said Ata’s background as a grassroots politician and who served as Speaker of the house and who never abandoned his constituency, made him an ideal choice.
He said Ata’s pedigree and exposure in grassroots politics would propel him to render good service to the nation as a member of the Federal Executive Council.
Zarewa also said that the appointment is significant, considering Ata’s past records as a member of the 8th Kano State House of Assembly, representing Fagge Constituency.
According to him, the appointment is expected to bring valuable insights and representation to the administration.
