Civil Society Organization Urges President Bola Tinubu to Uphold the Rule of Law

Citizens for Development and Education (CDE), a civil society organization, on Friday cautioned President Bola Tinubu to ensure the rule of law prevails, for the survival of the nation hard earn democracy.

Waiya criticized Justice Amobeda for delivering judgment on an Islamic holiday, disregarding cultural sensitivities and sparking tensions in Kano.
This situation raises concerns about the judicial system’s integrity and its impact on democratic processes.
We strongly criticized a federal judge’s ruling that blocks the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission from conducting local government elections.
The group, a coalition of CSOs, scholars, democracy advocates, and entrepreneurs from all six geopolitical zones, rejected the Federal High Court’s decision.
According to reports, the judge’s ruling contradicts the Supreme Court’s directive to hold elections before the end of October.
