Police steps to tackle the challenges facing the justice system.

Assistant Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Usaini Gumel recently emphasized the importance of leadership in criminal law and civil justice at the Leadership Course in Criminal Law and Civil Justice (LCCLCJ 2) in Abuja.
He stressed that effective leadership goes beyond legal statutes, requiring integrity, fairness, and resilience to ensure justice for all Nigerians.
Some of the key challenges facing the Nigeria Police Force include Institutional Challenges, Lack of independent oversight and ineffective internal discipline, Structural Challenges, Over-centralization, limiting community policing effectiveness, and Operational Challenges*: Inadequate equipment, tools, and personnel.
Others Financial Challenges, Insufficient funding, affecting infrastructure and personnel welfare, Capacity Challenges*: Inadequate training, compromised recruitment processes.
By implementing these resolutions and fostering leadership and collaboration, the Nigeria Police Force aims to enhance its effectiveness, better serve the community, and create a more just and equitable society.
