Kano, Sen. Sani Musa (APC Niger) and Chairman Senate Committee on Finance, has urged the youths partaking in the ongoing nationwide protests to suspend their action and embrace dialogue.

Sen.Musa made the call in a statement issued in in Kano on Monday.

“In alignment with the nationwide speech by our esteemed President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, I urgently call on everyone, especially our youth, to embrace dialogue and suspend all ongoing protests.

“As tensions rise, it is crucial that we prioritise peace and unity.

“Our president has emphasised the importance of maintaining stability and protecting our democracy. Acts of violence and unrest only serve to harm our nation.

“As the bedrock of our country’s stability and future prosperity, our youth must lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to peaceful resolution and constructive conversation,” he said.

The lawmaker said Tinubu was taking significant steps to ensure the well-being of Nigerians, adding that over N500 billion had been released to states to address pressing issues, including food insecurity.

He said measures such as the importation of food to reduce prices, conditional cash transfers to support the most vulnerable, and student loans to ease the burden on our youth were already in place.

These actions, he said, underscored the government’s commitment to cater for the needs of all Nigerians.

“Let us heed the president’s call and work together to build a stronger and more unified Nigeria. Let peace and dialogue be our guiding principles as we navigate these challenging times”, Musa said.
